our new home

what we did on our day off

We both had the day off, so we took the $1.50 bus ride out to Baker Beach. There were lots of beautiful rocks, a forest right next to the beach, plenty of nude sun bathers, boats, seagulls, etc. It was too cold for swimming, but just right for walking along the ocean trail. We also finally got to see the Golden Gate Bridge. (The beach is less than a mile from it.)

laura's new job

I got a job at a tea lounge in Yerba Buena Park in the city. It has a beautiful panoramic view of the SFMuseum of Modern Art (the striped circle on the bottom right of picture 1) and other downtown skyscrapers. We have outdoor seating right on top of the waterfall, and the whole place is surrounded by flowers. (Normally, there aren't white tents everywhere, but we took the pictures during the Filipino festival. There are different community events every week, including some great jazz.)

Here's our bedroom...Note the nice purple window covering from my sister, Amanda (thank you), the red ikea bookshelf, the origami ball my brother, Tucker, made me on top of our closet door, a beautiful painting Zach's grandmother painted of a lighthouse (reflected in the mirror), more paintings (a new one in progress...), and lots of stuff.
